Bring your sewing machines and scissors and work with other quilters in making projects for the community.
This is a lot of fun and a great way to meet others in the guild. You can sew or cut fabric or put together kits for an hour or two, or stay all day if you like. Coffee's on and there are usually some tasty treats!
In 2007, we donated 144 quilts, 243 Christmas Stockings, 11 pillow cases and various groceries to the Spokane Valley Partners. My granddaughter donated 19 of her stuffed animals.

The Spokane Valley Quilters Guild takes pride in being an influential non-profit organization in the greater Spokane area. The SVQG takes part in an annual raffle quilt that is assembled in the summer by its members who then vend raffle tickets throughout the fall, so that a lucky individual may win the quilt in the spring. This allows the SVQG to accrue a profit that is then used for the good of others (in the form of charity quilts) through organizations in Spokane, such as Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Spokane Valley Partners (formerly Spokane Valley Center), and Quilts of Valor.
Santa Express is the place for kids to shop in the month of December and purchase items for friends and family with a volunteer "elf." Items in the front of the store, Vanessa's Village, are for adults to purchase and include many handmade items. The handmade goodies always go fast, so, if you are interested in helping stock the store, please consider making some of the following items. Completed items can be dropped off at The Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery (1004 E 8th, corner of 8th and Arthur) or brought to a meeting and given to Lynda Burns who will see that it gets to Santa Express.
The most popular items include: Tote bags, pillowcases--especially flannels and kid prints, any sized quilts, casserole holders, oven mitts and potholders, hot pads, towels, teacher and hostess gifts, Christmas stockings, placemat and tablerunners, Christmas and holiday aprons and Christmas tree ornaments. Items need not have a holiday theme.
So, bust some stash and make something! Or take advantage of pre-holiday sales , or just finish a UFO (UnFinished Object!) and donate that. Thank you for all you do!!
