Mission Statement

Our common interest in quilting brings us together to befriend and encourage each other, to share ideas and skills to gain knowledge of our craft by providing a comprehensive library and experienced teachers, and to participate in community service projects.

What We Have to Offer

At the Spokane Valley Quilter's Guild we offer a lot of options for our members. We have an extensive Library of quilting and related books that are available for checkout to members at most of our meetings. A variety of Classes are offered, from potholders and color workshops to the more basic skills needed in quilting. There are Small Groups for those of us who can't get enough of our quilting sisters. Fundraising for our club and community are another major interest. We contribute to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery and the Spokane Valley Partners through various Community Sew Days and annual Events such as the Kindred Spirits Outdoor Quilt Show. A Newsletter is published 6 times a year.

Our History

We have been together for more than 25 years. Originally, in 1980, we started with 20 members and met at various places, homes, the old All Saints Episcopal Church and the Library. Back then quilting was undergoing a revival and people just wanted to learn. We worked on our own and community projects. Since then, we've grown to over 175 members and meet at the Valley Assembly of God.

Our Guild has always been very active in the community. Thousands of quilts have been donated, to Hospitals, Community Centers, and other community outreach efforts

The Spokane Valley Quilters Guild provides support for the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, the Spokane Valley Partners, Quilts of Valor among others, in the form of quilts, Christmas stockings, and other donated items. In fact, if it can be sewn and there is a need, we've probably made it!
